Leslie Wolffe Berkovits
Leslie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a concentration in Radio,
TV and Film from Northwestern University in 1977. After working for a small film
production company, Leslie later received a JD in 1981 from the SUNY at Buffalo School
of Law where she was elected to the Law Review. As an associate at White & Case in New
York City, Leslie practiced corporate securities law. Raising her family in Scarsdale, Leslie
became an active community volunteer and outspoken proponent of education reform.
A founding member and executive officer of STOP (State Testing Opposed by Parents),
she has appeared on “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” CNN and MSNBC, as
well as numerous other local and national television and radio stations and in print media, advocating for student-focused education reform. In addition to her advocacy efforts on
behalf of students, Leslie has coached youth sports, served as PTA President and Scarsdale
A-School parent representative. She has served as Chair on many school district, athletic league, and village boards.
